One amazing thing about having access to a WAYMAKER is that they know how to make a way when all your chips are down and you are about to lose hope and give up. It could be in a business setting, with your personal relationship or even during personal trials. They manage to make inroads in the wilderness and can cause streams to flow out of dry and arid places. We all have people like that in our lives who when we call them, can turn things around for us either by insight, information, practical help or a simple prayer and encouragement.
I always loved math story sums in primary school. Those scenarios where one had to solve some complex problems and come out with a correct answer always excited me. Little did I know that I was being given the foundation to navigate adult life which would have no end of simultaneous problems to solve.
It is easy to get lulled into thinking that there is no way out of these things when you see all the chaotic hard things happening in the world today. One of the main reasons I love following Jesus is not only because life’s journey is much sweeter walking and growing in relationship with Him but also because He is also a great troubleshooter for many of life’s conundrums that inevitably come our way. The sort of holistic WAYMAKER that anyone who catches wind of the sort of things that he has been able to do before would scramble into his inbox today to put in a friend request. He is a total representation of love, compassion, understanding and tolerance- just what we need more of in our communities today.
He once opened the eyes of a man who had scales on his eyes but thought he had been seeing right. This guy made a total life turnaround after realising he had been going the wrong way- walking in hate and persecution a certain group of people. Apostle Paul went on to make such a significant impact in the lives of the gentiles, ironically joining that group He had been antagonising. He authored most of the books in the new testament that are still transforming lives centuries after he originally put them together! An encounter with Jesus made a way for him out of walking in ignorance by persecuting believers into walking in light and love.
Jesus saved the life of a woman who had been caught in adultery and was about to be stoned to death as was the custom in that day. He did not condemn her but instructed her with words of wisdom- Go and sin no more. He covered her shame and gave her a way out of the death penalty.
A man called Zaccheus was a greedy tax collector who had lived a life of conning people, living in gross excess and luxury at the expense of others. An accepted invitation Jesus made to come to his house changed his life and caused him to repent and even give back people he had stolen from them. Talk about a total turnaround not only for the community but for Zaccheus himself!
A woman who had been bleeding for years and had spent years struggling with her health decided to follow Jesus despite there being crowds following Him. As she grabbed the corner of His garment, she received her total healing. Can you believe it? Total healing from a condition that troubled her for years, back to living an ordinary pain-free and normal life!
The practicality of life in Christ is what really does it for me. It is a good life. One which allows you to experience peace even during storms. Hope even when it looks so grim and an inert joy through every season you find yourself in! It is a relationship that encourages you to keep growing in your knowledge and understanding through the word of God. Your personal growth and ability to operate from a position of rest increases as you learn through your personal experiences and daily encounters as He is always with you, no matter what you are going through. He is a door that one can enter in and let him give you access to His pastures which are evergreen.
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me, if any man enter in, he shall be saved and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
John 10:7-9 KJV
If you are not following Him already, why don’t you enter in through His door? He is able to make a way out of every negative life experience for you and can navigate you to green pastures. Sometimes it is instant, sometimes it is a long arduous process but He still makes a way! It has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Try Him, follow Jesus!
