In the UK today marks the beginning of a new financial or tax year. With Brexit now in full motion and some implementations of new rules and statutes for businesses that were announced as a warning last year coming into effect today, the landscape ahead certainly looks different. Many have been dreading the changes, whilst many more spend lots of time complaining about the areas where the new terms are not seeminly favourable but as I spent the afternoon walking on the beach, the phrase that came to mind was the importance crossing over and embracing the new. Those who are quick off the mark with any changes that are in place and quickly incorporate them into their businesses, finances and lifestyles are able to move on with their desired plans smoothly as they do not drag their feet reminiscing about the yester-years but instead spend time thinking about how they can charge forward and accomplish the goals that they originally intended to.
I am reminded of one of my favourite scriptures at times where there are great tides of change afoot like this. It is found in Isaiah 43 vs 18 -19 and says “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
So when change is afoot and you are not sure how things are going to turn out, I would encourage you to meditate on scriptures such as this, bite the bullet and charge forward. If God be for you, who can be against you. You will thrive, you will make it through!
